The second class of the 2017 Earn-a-Bike Program is happening tonight! We’ve got 15 very excited kids registered.
We got to meet all of the participants at the first class/orientation on Thursday, 2/23. They brought a lot of energy and enthusiasm to the space, and shared how much their looking forward to wrenching, riding, and maybe even, racing!
Many of our super volunteers, supporters, and partners attended to encourage and share with the kids their cycling experience and passion. Also, a special thanks to the crew from Connecticut Cycling Advancement Program (CCAP – Dave, Karen, and Steve). They came out to share about youth racing opportunities in CT, and to give kids some head-to-head racing experience via the stationary Computrainer bikes.
If you’re a youth or know a youth interested in the Earn-a-Bike program, have them contact me and arrange to attend tonight’s session (5:30-7:30pm) at BiCi Co (95 Park St Hartford). We may be able to let one or two additional student’s in from the waitlist.
If you’re someone that loves bikes and kids, consider becoming a volunteer for the program! It’s a great way to become a BiCi Co. member and access the benefits of becoming a part of the BiCi Co. family. If you’re interested give Joseph Dickerson, BiCi Co. Program Manager, a call (860-247-9227 x18) or email (joe_Dickerson@ctprf.org). He’d love to have you join the program team.
