Monday, February 17, 5:30–6:30 PM
Center for Latino Progress
95 Park Street, Hartford, CT, 2nd floor classroom
(upstairs from the BiCi Co shop)
In words, photos, and a brief curbside tour, Carolyn Mason and Mike Bazzano will share how they decided to customize a van and set off for bike adventures at the Center for Latino Progress on the evening of Monday, February 17, 2020.
Join the two bicycle lovers as they describe and show off the van they designed to fit four bicycles and everything needed for long journeys. How did they arrange life and work around travel, bikes, and adventure? Where do they plan to go? How long did it take to design and build the van? Where did they find ideas and designs? What else fits in the van besides the bikes? BYO questions. And check out the van at the end of the talk.
Also BYO refreshments if you like. It’s the end of the day, and we’re welcome to snack in the meeting room where the event takes place on the 2nd floor of the Center for Latino Progress. Feel free to bring enough goodies to share if you have time and room in your backpacks and panniers.
After the talk and van show-and-tell, women, girls, female-identifying, and non-binary attendees are invited to Femme Monday DIY hours, which continue till 8:30 pm, downstairs in the BiCi Co shop at 97 Park St. Bring your own bike and make use of BiCi Co’s great tools and coaching, or help tune up bikes for the youth BikeLIFE program that takes place during Spring break 2020. No bike-fix experience necessary. In fact, no bike-fix anything is required; just come for hang-out time in the workshop. Share your dreams for bicycle adventures with an appreciative group.
